Sound Electronics installs remote starters on Toyotas in Woodstock — RAV4s, Corollas, Camrys, Tacomas and Highlanders, including hybrid models.
If your Toyota has no remote start, or relies on an app you would rather not pay for, we can fit a remote starter that works from the key fob, a dedicated remote or your phone.
We fit remote starters to Toyota vehicles regularly, including:
If yours is not on the list, that does not mean it cannot be done — call with the year, model and trim and we will tell you what it needs.
Toyotas come in key-start and push-button (Smart Key) versions, often within the same model depending on the trim. Key-start vehicles need an immobilizer bypass so the engine will run without the key in the ignition; push-button vehicles need an interface module that talks to the vehicle’s electronics. Both are standard work, and your factory anti-theft protection stays in place — the vehicle cannot be driven away without the key.
Many newer Toyotas offer remote start through the Toyota app. On a lot of models this is tied to a Remote Connect subscription once the trial period ends, and it needs a cell signal at both ends. An aftermarket remote starter works from its own remote with no subscription, and can add two-way confirmation so you know the vehicle actually started.
Hybrid RAV4s, Corollas, Camrys and Highlanders can take a remote starter too. On a hybrid, remote start powers up the hybrid system rather than simply idling the engine; the engine runs as the system needs it to heat the cabin. The result is the same — a warm vehicle with clear windows — and the installation is set up for how the hybrid system behaves.
Tacomas and Tundras are good candidates for a two-way system with longer range, since trucks are often parked further from the house or job site. We can also add a GPS tracker at the same time if the truck spends nights away from home.
We install Viper and iDatastart remote starters in one-way and two-way configurations, with smartphone control available as an add-on. On many vehicles the system can also be set up so the factory key fob starts the engine, if you would rather not carry a second remote.

Yes. Hybrid Toyotas can take a remote starter. Remote start powers up the hybrid system, and the engine runs as needed to heat the cabin.
Not with an aftermarket system. Factory app-based remote start on many Toyotas is tied to a subscription after the trial; an aftermarket remote starter works from its own remote with no subscription. Smartphone control is available as an add-on if you want it.
Yes. Push-button (Smart Key) Toyotas need an interface module that communicates with the vehicle’s electronics, which is part of the installation.
A properly installed remote starter should not affect your vehicle warranty. Problems come from poor installation, not from remote start itself.
