Sound Electronics installs remote starters on Hondas in Woodstock, from older key-start models to the newest push-button trims of the Civic, CR-V and the rest of the range.
Whether your Honda has no remote start at all or a factory system that only works from the driveway, we can fit a remote starter that works the way you want — from the kitchen, the office or across a parking lot.
We fit remote starters to Honda vehicles regularly, including:
If yours is not on the list, that does not mean it cannot be done — call with the year, model and trim and we will tell you what it needs.
Many Hondas are key-start on the base trims and push-button start on the higher trims, and that difference changes the installation. Push-button vehicles do not have an ignition barrel for the system to work through, so they need an interface module that communicates with the vehicle’s electronics. Key-start vehicles need an immobilizer bypass so the engine will run without the key in the ignition. Both are routine, and neither disables your factory security — the vehicle still cannot be driven away without the key.
Some newer Hondas offer remote start through the factory fob or the HondaLink app. Depending on the model and year, the fob range can be short and app-based start may depend on a connected-services plan. If the factory system does what you need, there is no reason to replace it. If you want longer range, two-way confirmation that the vehicle has started, or a system with no subscription, an aftermarket starter is the usual answer.
The CR-V and Civic are two of the most popular Hondas on the road, and both are straightforward installs on most model years; what changes the job is the trim (key or push-button), whether you want smartphone control, and whether you want the system to add keyless entry or security features. You can read about one of our Honda CR-V remote starter installations as an example.
We install Viper and iDatastart remote starters in one-way and two-way configurations, with smartphone control available as an add-on. On many vehicles the system can also be set up so the factory key fob starts the engine, if you would rather not carry a second remote.

Yes. Push-button Hondas need an interface module that communicates with the vehicle’s electronics. It is a routine part of the installation.
Some newer Hondas have factory remote start through the key fob or the HondaLink app, depending on the model, year and trim. If you are not sure, bring the keys by or call with your year and trim and we will check.
A properly installed remote starter should not affect your vehicle warranty. Problems come from poor installation, not from remote start itself, which is why the quality of the work matters.
Yes. We can add smartphone control to the remote starter, which lets you start the vehicle from anywhere you have cellular or Wi-Fi service.
